About the Team and the Role:
The Corporate Finance & Accounts team at Ather is responsible for managing the company's financial integrity and ensuring seamless compliance with regulatory frameworks.
This role is for an Indirect Taxation specialist who will manage the end-to-end indirect tax compliance function, including GST registrations, refund applications, and customs compliance, while supporting system automation and litigation documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete indirect tax compliance function, including monthly returns and GST reconciliations, in coordination with consultants.
- Execute filings for current GST registrations and additional places of business, including documentation review and authority liaison.
- Prepare workings and documentation for GST refund applications related to inverted duty structures and exports.
- Handle customs compliance, including reviewing Bill of Entries (BOEs), shipping bills,



and returns under IGCR Rules.
- Support internal reporting and book closure activities while working with auditors on statutory audits.
- Assist in ERP and system developments to enable automated tax processes within the company.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation and data for GST audits, scrutinies, and litigations.
- Monitor changes in GST laws impacting the industry and provide proactive updates on key developments to the team.

Required qualifications:
- Certified Chartered Accountant.
- 2-5 years of experience, with prior experience in Big 4 organizations.

Must Have Competencies:
- Comprehensive knowledge of indirect tax legislations including GST, Customs, and Foreign Trade Policies.
- Proficiency in managing end-to-end indirect tax compliances, GST audits, and litigation processes.
