Description

This role will contribute to Oracle Cloud’s pre-deployment safety platform. The engineer will develop, test, and maintain features for policy evaluation, operational risk checks, approval workflows, and service integrations. Working with experienced engineers, they will deliver well-defined features and fixes, troubleshoot deployment evaluation issues, improve monitoring and service reliability, and maintain technical documentation. The role offers hands-on experience building and operating cloud services that reduce deployment risk while keeping release workflows efficient.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Platform Software Development:
- Deliver minor enhancements to shared services, integration adapters, or SDK surfaces within defined guardrails.
- Apply compatibility/versioning rules during fixes and minor rollouts to protect downstream teams.
- Propose small observability/resilience improvements based on API/SDK usage signals for a subsystem.

Software Development and Coding - Design, Testing, and Optimization:




- Contributes to designing software solutions and analyzes requirements to achieve business and operational goals, with limited guidance.
- Adheres to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Applies working knowledge to develop and review code for recent software features and enhancements following design specifications and develops documents to clarify software design and code.
- Conducts debugging and troubleshooting to identify and fix simple and moderately complex software issues.
- Develops fixes for identified issues.
- Implements software testing (e.g., functional testing), quality assurance processes, software error logging, monitoring, and observability for effective debugging, following established frameworks.
- Supports the implementation of standard and non-standard performance profiling and optimization of coding.
