Job Description:

A Head of E-commerce is a senior commercial leader responsible for driving online revenue growth, managing the digital Profit & Loss (P&L;), and overseeing operations across Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) sites and marketplaces. They define the digital strategy, optimize customer experience, and lead cross-functional teams spanning marketing, tech, and supply chain.

Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive e-commerce and omnichannel strategies to achieve revenue, margin, and market share growth.
- P&L; & Budget Management: Own the digital P&L;, forecast revenue, manage operational costs (platform fees, agency costs), and allocate marketing budgets to maximize ROI.
- Platform & Marketplace Operations: Oversee storefront operations across major platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Amazon, Flipkart, Quick Commerce) and ensure optimal product merchandising and inventory availability.
- Customer Experience (CX): Analyze user journeys, conversion rates,



and A/B test results to reduce checkout friction and enhance the online shopping experience.
- Digital Marketing & Acquisition: Collaborate with marketing teams to oversee performance marketing (SEO, SEM, PPC, affiliate, social media) and retention strategies.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing e-commerce team, including digital marketers, content specialists, and web developers.
- Supply Chain Collaboration: Coordinate with logistics, warehousing, and procurement teams to ensure seamless fulfillment, reduce return rates, and prevent stock-outs.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Conversion Rate: Target an increase, for example, from an industry average of 2% to 3%.
- Return on Ad Spend (ROAS): Track campaign efficiency, typically aiming for a target multiple of 3.0× to 5.0× based on industry benchmarks.
- Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) & Lifetime Value (LTV): Optimize LTV to CAC ratios to ensure sustainable, profitable growth.
