JOB DESCRIPTION – QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Job Title

Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, cost estimation, billing, and commercial activities for construction projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of construction quantities, rate analysis, client billing, subcontractor billing, and project cost monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review BOQs based on drawings and project specifications.
- Carry out accurate quantity take-off and measurement from drawings and site conditions.
- Prepare detailed estimates and cost calculations.
- Prepare and verify rate analysis for construction activities.
- Prepare client RA bills and supporting measurement sheets.
- Verify and process subcontractor bills.
- Monitor project quantities against BOQ and actual site execution.
- Identify quantity variations and prepare variation statements.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Architects, and Procurement teams.
- Maintain records of measurements, quantities, bills, and project costs.
- Review work orders, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and related commercial documents.
- Assist in cost control and budget monitoring.
- Prepare monthly quantity and billing reports for management.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors regarding billing and measurements.
- Maintain proper documentation of project commercial records.
- Support project planning and cost-control activities when required.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Quantity Surveying and Construction Estimation.




- Good knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity take-off.
- Experience in client billing and subcontractor billing.
- Knowledge of RA Bills / Running Account Bills.
- Good knowledge of rate analysis and cost estimation.
- Ability to read and understand civil/architectural drawings.
- Valuable knowledge of MS Excel.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work with site and project teams.

Qualification

- B.E / B.Tech – Civil Engineering
- Diploma in Civil Engineering
- B.Sc / equivalent construction-related qualification with relevant QS experience may also be considered.

Experience

2–6 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Billing, Estimation, or Construction Commercial activities.
