The Finance organization at State Street plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of financial data that informs decision-making across the enterprise. Metadata is the foundation of that transparency – it is what allows us to prove where a number came from, who owns it, how it was transformed, and whether it can be trusted.
This role is responsible for delivering that foundation day to day. As DART matures from a project-based approach to an enterprise capability, the completeness of our metadata and the effective use of our governance tooling determine whether we meet BCBS 239 and regulatory commitments efficiently or through sustained manual effort. This role exists to close that gap through consistent execution.
Role Summary
The VP – Data Governance Enablement and Operations leads the day-to-day delivery of metadata management, data lineage documentation, and data governance tooling operations for Finance, Treasury, and Financial Risk.
This role is focused on the operationalization of CDO policies and standards, and business unit priorities. This role manages the Finance data catalog and CDE inventory and executes the semi-annual CDE metadata and lineage attestation cycle end to end in partnership with other data governance partners.
The role also drives continuous improvement of the governance toolset. The VP identifies automation and efficiency opportunities across Collibra and adjacent platforms, develops business cases and recommendations, and leads delivery of approved enhancements in partnership with the CDO organization, the Data Product and Data Solutions Teams, and Technology.
The VP manages a team of Senior Associate and Officer-level data stewards and governance analysts and serves as the primary working-level contact for metadata and tooling matters with Finance stakeholders and provider teams.
