Job Title: UK Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified or experienced UK Accountant to manage accounting, bookkeeping, tax compliance, and financial reporting in accordance with UK accounting standards and HMRC requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records and general ledgers.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage VAT returns, PAYE, Corporation Tax, and other HMRC submissions.
Perform bank, credit card, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
Prepare management accounts and financial reports.
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Process payroll and related statutory requirements where applicable.
Assist with year-end accounts and statutory filings.
Liaise with auditors, HMRC, clients, and other stakeholders.




Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and relevant legislation.
Identify discrepancies and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1–3 years of UK accounting experience preferred.
Knowledge of UK GAAP, HMRC regulations, and VAT.
Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or FreeAgent.
Solid Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability.
Positive written and verbal English communication.
AAT, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualification/progress toward qualification is desirable.
