Role & responsibilities
Assess and examine patients on admission and during duty hours.
Handle emergency and critical situations promptly.
Monitor patient vitals and clinical condition.
Initiate treatment and medications as per hospital protocols and consultant advice.
Perform basic procedures such as IV cannulation, Foleys catheterization, Ryle’s tube insertion, suturing, ECG, and ABG sampling as required.
Attend to inpatients, outpatients, and emergency cases.
Coordinate with consultants, nurses, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments.
Prepare and maintain accurate patient case sheets and medical records.
Review investigation reports and communicate critical findings to consultants.
Ensure proper handover of patients between shifts.
Follow hospital policies, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards.
