Role & responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess Credit Appraisal Memorandums (CAMs) and financial models submitted by the Business Team.
- Prepare comprehensive credit notes and financial models using inputs from business teams, public-domain information and other relevant sources.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including P&L;, Balance Sheet and cash-flow assessment, and identify reasons for major financial movements/variances.
- Assess business, promoter, financial, transaction and industry risks associated with Large/Mid Corporate borrowers.
- Structure credit transactions in compliance with internal credit policies and applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Identify key risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigants, sanction conditions and credit recommendations.
- Work extensively on Excel-based financial models, including large interconnected sheets and cash-flow models.
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams involved in the credit appraisal and assessment process.
Preferred candidate profile
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in credit appraisal/underwriting, preferably within Corporate Banking, NBFC or a similar lending environment.
- Must have hands-on underwriting experience in the Large/Mid Corporate segment, including assessment of high-ticket credit exposures.
- Robust experience in CAM/credit note preparation, financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment.
- Strong understanding of transaction structuring, risk identification and mitigation.
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel and financial modelling, particularly cash-flow-based models and interconnected financial sheets.
- Strong analytical ability to evaluate P&L; and Balance Sheet movements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Good team coordination, attitude and willingness to learn and train others.
