Inviting applications for the role of Senior Manager, Capital Regime!
In this role, The Senior Manager is a leadership role responsible for end-to-end oversight of capital regime process, with a focus on model development.
This role provides strategic direction, ensures delivery excellence, drives quality assurance, manages multi location teams, and serves as the senior offshore interface for client stakeholders.
Senior Managers own delivery governance, escalate key risks, guide the design and enhancement of models, and ensure the consistency and integrity of outputs across all regulatory related engagements. The role requires deep subject matter expertise, stakeholder leadership, and strong operational management capability.
Responsibilities and role requirements:
- Work on capital methodologies, assumptions, aggregation approaches, and control frameworks. Methodology – Integrated Market risk (VaR, stress testing, PnL attribution) and alternative asset risk (illiquidity, valuation lag, tail risk), risk factor modelling, volatility modelling, stochastic process modelling, Geometric Brownian Motion, Monte Carlo simulation, across asset classes.
- Responsibilities spread across various products and asset classes – across the full investment portfolio — fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternatives (PE, private credit, real assets, hedge funds) — supporting total portfolio risk aggregation and capital allocation. Experience of exotic derivatives across asset classes will be of added advantage.
- Model Testing (1st line of defence) – back-testing, stress testing, testing of non-linear and toxic payoff structures
- Model documentation, mentor junior team members and serve as primary liaison to clients, and external auditors.
- Serve as senior point of contact for regulators, auditors and Boards on capital matters.
- Guide escalation and resolution of material capital risks and emerging issues.
- Ensure robustness of audit trails, documentation standards, and regulatory defensibility.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives including automation, process optimization and technology enhancements.
- Build and develop high-performing teams through coaching, performance management and capability building.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's/PhD in Quantitative disciplines like Physics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Statistics, or related field. Strong in mathematical derivation of payoff and Greeks.
- Model development Specialization:
- Experience in model development spanning both market risk and alternative investments, ideally in insurance. For candidates with banking / investment banking experience, should have basic exposure to insurance products and its market risk management.
- Some grasp of regulatory/capital frameworks (FRTB, RBC, Solvency II, IFRS 17 as relevant)
- Capital Methodologies & Simulation Techniques: Theoretical/ working knowledge of full revaluation vs sensitivity-based approaches, nested simulations, proxy models, Monte Carlo methodologies,
and aggregation/correlation structures within Internal Model and Standard Formula frameworks.
- Ability to assess, and improve regulatory processes across the organization
- Proficient in preparing process narratives, and highquality working papers.
- Robust analytical abilities with the capability to interpret complex evidence and identify root causes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing and issue drafting.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and manage deadlines in a global delivery model.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with Reporting tools – PowerBI etc,
- Deep expertise in insurance regulatory frameworks and supervisory expectations
