Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Data Protection Specialist to manage and enhance our enterprise data protection and compliance program. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and expertise in data classification, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), records management, compliance monitoring, and information security.

The role will work closely with IT, Information Security, Legal, HR, Risk Management, and business teams to protect sensitive information, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen the organizations data governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure and manage Microsoft Purview Information Protection and Sensitivity Labels.
- Design and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies across Microsoft 365 environments.
- Implement and monitor Endpoint DLP controls.
- Support Data Lifecycle Management and Records Management initiatives.
- Manage Insider Risk Management, Audit, eDiscovery, and Communication Compliance activities.
- Monitor security and compliance alerts, investigate incidents, and provide remediation recommendations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement data protection policies and governance controls.
- Conduct user awareness sessions and support compliance training programs.
- Develop reports, dashboards, SOPs, and operational documentation.
- Continuously improve Microsoft Purview configurations and data protection controls.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview.

- Data Classification Auto-Labeling
- Insider Risk Management
- Data Lifecycle Records Management
- Audit eDiscovery
- Valuable understanding of:
- Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams)
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Intune
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Security Operations and Incident Management
- Knowledge of PowerShell and automation tools is an advantage.

Qualifications

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications.
- 3-5 years of experience in Data Protection, Information Security, Compliance, Privacy, or Data Governance.
- 2-3 years of hands-on Microsoft Purview experience in an enterprise environment.

Preferred Certifications

- Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
