Key Responsibilities
1. Database Administration
- Install, configure and upgrade DB2.
- Create/manage database objects.
- Configure instances, storage and environments.
- Performance Tuning
- Analyze DB2 performance.
- Review SQL execution plans.
- Tune queries, indexes and database parameters.
- Resolve locks, blocks and deadlocks.
- Backup & Recovery
- Implement backup strategies.
- Perform restoration and recovery.
- Manage archived logs.
- Conduct recovery testing.
- HADR / DR
- Configure and maintain DB2 HADR.
- Perform failover/switchover.
- Participate in DR drills.
- Support RPO/RTO requirements.
- Security
- Manage DB2 users and privileges.
- Implement authentication and authorization.
- Configure encryption and SSL/TLS.
- Support audits and access reviews.
