JD Electrical Technician / Electrician – Smelter O&M;

Role: Electrical Technician

Function: Smelter O&M;

Work Level: Electrician

Reporting To: Shift IC / Area IC

Qualification & Experience

Diploma in Electrical Engineering – Regular Diploma preferred.

Minimum 5 years post-Diploma experience.

Experience in Fertilizer / Chemical / Metal industry preferred.

Candidates with Phosphoric Acid Plant (PAP) or Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) exposure preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with SOP, SMP, JSA, TBT and Try-Out requirements.

Execute electrical repair and maintenance activities and restore normal operating conditions.

Perform shift takeover/handover and maintain proper work controls.

Identify and report abnormalities, unsafe acts/conditions and near misses.

Maintain 5S, housekeeping and safety standards.

Implement work schedules and ensure timely completion of maintenance jobs.





Support Kaizen activities and effective communication across teams.

Technical Skills

Electrical troubleshooting and corrective maintenance.

Electrical safety and GESM standards.

Transformers, PCC/MCC panels, VCB, ACB, MCCB, ELCB and MCB.

Electrical motors, VFD and UPS.

Electrical control drawings and control interlocks.

Conveying systems, compressors, EOT cranes and hoists.

Earthing systems, power/control cables, cable termination and jointing.

Proper selection and use of electrical tools.

Performance Expectations

Zero incidents.

Improve MTTR.

Complete job pendency 100%.

Minimize repeat jobs due to workmanship.

Optimize manpower/resources through proper planning.

Improve technical skill levels.

Budget: 4,47,100 per annum.
