Job Summary

We are hiring a Finance Manager for a fast-growing Clean Energy / Energy-Tech startup in Bengaluru.

The candidate must have prior experience working in a startup or high-growth entrepreneurial environment and should be comfortable taking complete ownership of the finance function.

The role involves Controllership, Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A;, Taxation, Treasury, Cash Flow Management and Business Finance, with direct exposure to the founders.

Key Responsibilities

Controllership & Financial Reporting

- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing.
- Ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting.
- Prepare MIS, P&L; analysis and financial statements.
- Strengthen accounting controls, processes and governance.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants and external accounting partners.

Taxation & Compliance

- Oversee GST, TDS, Income Tax and statutory compliance.
- Manage statutory, tax and internal audits.
- Ensure timely reconciliations, filings and regulatory compliance.

Treasury & Cash Flow

- Manage treasury, liquidity and working capital.
- Prepare cash-flow forecasts and variance analysis.
- Manage banking relationships.
- Support working capital and debt requirements.
- Assist with lender discussions,



financing documentation and funding activities.

FP&A; & Business Finance

- Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial models.
- Track business performance, margins and cost optimisation.
- Provide financial insights to founders and business teams.
- Support revenue operations, accounts receivable and commercial activities.
- Assist with investor reporting, due diligence and fundraising activities.

Finance Processes & Systems

- Develop finance SOPs, controls and scalable processes.
- Improve billing, reconciliation, expense management and revenue recognition.
- Drive ERP, automation and AI-enabled finance initiatives.
- Build efficient and scalable finance operations.

Mandatory Requirements

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- 5 to 6 years of post-qualification experience.
- Prior startup / high-growth company experience is mandatory.
- Strong hands-on experience in Controllership, Accounting & Financial Reporting.
- Good knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax and Statutory Audits.
- Experience in FP&A;, Budgeting, Forecasting and MIS.
- Exposure to Treasury, Working Capital and Cash Flow Management.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Good ERP/accounting systems experience.




- Solid analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience building finance processes, SOPs and controls from scratch.
- Experience working directly with founders / senior leadership.
- Exposure to fundraising, debt raising, banking relationships, investor reporting or due diligence.
- Experience in Clean Energy, Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, B2B Technology or Energy-Tech will be an advantage.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on CA professional with mandatory startup experience who can take ownership of the complete finance function, strengthen controllership, build scalable processes and work closely with founders.

Candidates with broad finance ownership and strong accounting/controller experience will be preferred.
