L1 Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated resource to join our Application Performance Monitoring (APM) team. The role involves monitoring the performance, availability, and reliability of business-critical applications using the HEAL APM tool, ensuring smooth business operations and timely response to application issues.

Key Responsibilities

* Monitor application performance, availability, health, and key metrics through the HEAL APM platform.

* Monitor and analyze alerts/events and perform first-level troubleshooting.

* Identify performance degradation, application errors, failures, and abnormal behavior.

* Analyze basic logs, alerts, and monitoring data to identify probable issues.

* Create/update incidents with appropriate details and perform timely escalation to L2/L3 or relevant application teams.

* Follow defined SOPs, escalation matrix, and SLA requirements.

* Track incidents and ensure proper shift handover and follow-up until resolution.

* Prepare daily/weekly/monthly monitoring and performance reports.





* Identify recurring alerts and highlight them to senior team members for further analysis.

* Coordinate with application, infrastructure, database, and other support teams during incidents.

Required Skills

* Hands-on knowledge of HEAL APM / Application Performance Monitoring.

* Understanding of application monitoring concepts such as response time, availability, errors, throughput, and alerts.

* Basic knowledge of application logs and troubleshooting.

* Good analytical, communication, documentation, and reporting skills.

* Ability to work in a shift-based / 24x7 monitoring environment.

Positive to Have

* Knowledge of HEAL or other APM/monitoring tools will be an added advantage.

* HEAL certification will be an added advantage.

* Basic knowledge of ITIL/Incident Management processes.

* Experience in banking or other critical application environments.

Experience

1–3 years of experience in APM, application monitoring, production support.
