About the Role

athenahealth is looking for an Implementation Analyst to join our Integration Services team in Chennai.

In this role, you will build, test, implement, and support healthcare integrations for ambulatory clients. You will work with technologies such as HL7, SFTP, SSH, VPN, XML, networking protocols, and SQL, while collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams across India and the US.

We are looking for someone with strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and project management skills who enjoys solving complex integration and connectivity issues.

What Youll Do

- Build, test, implement, and support healthcare integrations/interfaces.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and electronic data interchange (EDI) issues.
- Work with technologies such as HL7, SFTP, SSH, VPN, XML, and networking protocols.
- Manage multiple technical implementation projects with competing priorities.
- Communicate project status and timelines with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Analyze technical and workflow issues and identify appropriate solutions.




- Collaborate with Product, Development, Customer Success, and Program Management teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve integration processes and operational efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

- 4+ years of overall experience in Technical Support, IT Operations, US Healthcare, or related areas.
- Atleast 1 year of project management experience, preferably involving technical projects.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with India and US-based teams.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
- Willingness to work during US business hours: 5:30 PM–2:30 AM IST.

Valuable to Have

- Healthcare/US Healthcare domain experience.
- Knowledge of HL7 standards, healthcare interfaces, or interface engines.
- SQL knowledge and understanding of database schemas/tables.
- Understanding of EMR/EHR systems, HIPAA, and patient safety.
- Clinical experience or EMR-related certification is an advantage.
