Role Overview
Migrate on-premises relational databases to AWS using robust database expertise, cloud architecture
skills, and AI-accelerated tooling to deliver secure, reliable, low-downtime migrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess on-prem workloads and plan homogeneous/heterogeneous migrations.
- Convert schemas, stored procedures, and SQL across database engines.
- Design secure AWS targets (RDS, Aurora, EC2) and execute cutover/rollback plans.
- Automate deployments with Infrastructure as Code and tune performance post-migration.
Required Skills (Core)
- Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Db2; strong SQL and tuning.
- AWS Migration: DMS, SCT, RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3.
- Cloud Foundations: VPC, IAM, networking, Well-Architected Framework.
- Security: KMS, SSL/TLS encryption, least-privilege IAM, compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Automation: Terraform/CloudFormation, Python/Bash/PowerShell, CloudWatch monitoring.
