About the role

My Virtual Employee is hiring an experienced Architectural Designer to produce residential house plans for Australian clients. You'll work as a dedicated full-time team member embedded with an Australian building/design business, drafting and documenting new homes, renovations and extensions in ArchiCAD.

This is not freelance or project-based work. It's a permanent full-time position with a single client, company-supplied equipment and ongoing support from our team.

What you'll do

- Produce concept designs, working drawings and construction documentation for Australian residential projects in ArchiCAD
- Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, site plans and detail drawings
- Set up and maintain BIM models, layouts, views and publisher sets
- Prepare drawing sets for council/shire development approval and building permit submission
- Make design amendments from client and builder feedback
- Coordinate documentation with engineers, energy assessors and other consultants
- Maintain templates,



layers, favourites and library parts to keep output consistent

What you need

- Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Architectural Drafting or equivalent
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in ArchiCAD this is essential and will be tested
- Proven experience documenting residential projects from concept through to construction drawings
- Solid understanding of residential construction and building detailing

Highly regarded

- Prior experience on Australian residential projects
- Working knowledge of the NCC/BCA, AS 1684, and Australian council/shire DA requirements
- Familiarity with WA residential design codes (R-Codes)
- Experience with BIMcloud or Teamwork models
- Skills in SketchUp, Twinmotion, Lumion or similar for 3D visualisation
- Experience with energy efficiency (NatHERS) documentation
