Gis Trainer (Subject Matter Expert)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Geospatial / Digital Mapping Domain Expert with 3-5 years of relevant experience in digital mapping or location-based services. The candidate will be responsible for managing mapping workflows, supporting operators and QC teams, performing quality checks, coordinating with client SMEs, and providing technical and process guidance to project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as a Digital Mapping Domain Expert and provide technical/process guidance to project teams.
- Understand, interpret, and implement project policies, specifications, workflows, and QA/QC methodologies.
- Resolve technical and process-related queries raised by Operators and QCers.
- Interpret and identify geographic features from satellite and aerial imagery with strong visual and analytical acumen.
- Perform Meta QC on vector and raster map layers to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate proactively with Client Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on project specifications, workflows, QA/QC methodology, and deliverables.
- Manage day-to-day process, workflow, and people-related activities.
- Provide technical and process inputs to internal stakeholders through written and verbal communication.
- Identify process gaps and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Support project-specific training programs and pitch in as a trainer when required.
- Assist in maintaining process documentation, SOPs, guidelines, and workflow updates.
- Support project delivery by ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and defined processes.





Required Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum qualification: Graduate in any discipline.
- Strong preference for candidates with a Bachelors/Masters degree or certification in Geospatial Technology, GIS, Remote Sensing, Geography, or a related field.
- 46 years of experience in Digital Mapping, GIS, Location-Based Services, Remote Sensing, or related domains.
- Good understanding of satellite and aerial imagery interpretation.
- Solid knowledge of digital mapping concepts, workflows, and quality-control processes.
- Ability to understand and implement project-specific policies, specifications, and SOPs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders.
- Experience in handling Operators/QCers or managing day-to-day project activities will be an advantage.
- Ability to train team members and communicate technical concepts effectively.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of Vector and Raster data and mapping layers.
- Experience in Meta QC / quality auditing of digital map data.
- Familiarity with GIS and geospatial tools/software.
- Understanding of QA/QC methodologies and mapping accuracy standards.
- Experience working on large-scale mapping or location-based service projects.
