Job Title: New Product Development (NPD) Manager
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Development & Engineering

- Lead the end-to-end development of electric vehicle products, including vehicle systems, battery systems, power electronics, powertrain and drivetrain components.
- Define product specifications, technical requirements, and design standards.
- Coordinate with engineering teams for design, prototyping, and validation of EV components.

2. Project Management

- Develop and manage product development timelines, budgets, and milestones.
- Track project progress and ensure on-time delivery of product development stages.
- Manage cross-functional collaboration between R&D;, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and supply chain teams.

3. Innovation & Technology Development

- Monitor emerging technologies in battery systems, motors, charging systems, and power electronics.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and performance improvement.
- Support development of next-generation EV platforms and technologies.

4. Prototyping, Testing & Validation

- Oversee prototype development and testing for performance, safety, and durability.
- Ensure compliance with automotive safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage design validation and product certification processes.

5. Manufacturing & Production Readiness

- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Support pilot production, process validation, and product launch.
- Address technical issues during production ramp-up.

6. Supplier & Component Management





- Collaborate with suppliers for EV components such as batteries, motors, controllers, and charging systems.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and ensure quality and technical compliance.

7. Product Launch & Lifecycle Management

- Lead recent product introduction (NPI) and commercialization.
- Monitor product performance and manage product improvements or upgrades.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 510 years of experience in automotive or electric vehicle product development.
- Experience in EV systems such as battery packs, BMS, electric motors, or power electronics.

Required Skills

- Strong product development and project management skills
- Knowledge of electric vehicle architecture and systems
- Experience with CAD tools and engineering design processes
- Understanding of automotive standards and compliance
- Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Masters degree in automotive engineering or electrical engineering
- Experience with EV charging systems, battery management systems (BMS), or vehicle control systems
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and automotive quality standards

- Time-to-market for EV products

- Product performance and reliability
- Successful product launch and commercialization
- Compliance with regulatory and safety standards

Experience : 7-10 years
Preference : EV industry majorly for L3/L5 segment
