Role Objective / Job Purpose

The role is primarily responsible for leading the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions across Ingot & Wafer manufacturing operations. He/She will be responsible for developing and implementing quality strategies, ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), customer-specific requirements, and statutory regulations, while driving process excellence, yield improvement, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives through effective leadership and cross-functional collaboration

Roles & Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities

• Lead and manage IQC, PQA, FQA, OQA, and customer quality functions across Ingot & Wafer manufacturing operations.
• Develop, implement, and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS), including SOPs, Control Plans, PFMEA, Inspection Standards, Quality Procedures, and documentation control systems.
• Drive quality strategy to improve First Pass Yield (FPY), process capability (Cp/Cpk), product reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
• Lead customer complaint management, warranty investigations, 8D reporting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implementation of effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Establish quality objectives, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement to reduce PPM, COPQ, scrap, rework, and process variation.
• Lead Internal Audits, Layered Process Audits (LPA), Product Audits, Supplier Audits, Customer Audits, and Certification Audits while ensuring closure of audit observations.
• Ensure effective implementation of SPC, MSA, Process Validation, New Product Introduction (NPI), Process Change Management,



and Risk Assessment activities.
• Collaborate with Production, Process, Maintenance, Engineering, SCM, R&D;, and other Cross Functional Teams (CFT) to resolve critical quality issues and improve manufacturing performance.
• Review and approve quality reports, management dashboards, quality trend analysis, KPI reports, and Management Review Meeting (MRM) inputs.
• Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives and ensure incoming material quality meets defined standards.
• Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, competency development, and performance management of Engineers, Associate Engineers, Junior Engineers, and Quality Inspectors.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Digital Quality Systems, automation, and operational excellence initiatives to enhance quality performance and business results.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IMS, customer-specific standards, EHS requirements, and company policies while promoting a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Education / Qualification

Bachelor of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent. A certification in Quality Management, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt,



or Lead Auditor will be an added advantage

Experience

More than 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control within medium or large manufacturing industries, with 35 years in a leadership role. Preference: Solar Manufacturing

Knowledge & Skill Set

• Expert knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Manufacturing Quality Systems.
• Strong expertise in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow, SPC, MSA, CAPA, and 7 QC Tools.
• Advanced knowledge of Root Cause Analysis methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, Pareto Analysis).
• Thorough understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Capability (Cp/Cpk), Yield Improvement, Reliability Engineering, and Data Analytics.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001, IMS, customer-specific quality requirements, supplier quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Expertise in customer quality management, audit management, supplier quality improvement, and quality risk management.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, Minitab, ERP/MES systems, and quality reporting tools.
• Strong strategic thinking, leadership, decision-making, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, negotiation, and team development capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional quality improvement projects and organizational transformation initiatives.
• Solid focus on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery (SQCD), customer satisfaction, compliance, and business excellence
