Required Experience & Criteria:
- Previous experience as a Control Room Operator in a District Cooling Plant or similar facility.
- Good knowledge of HVAC and chilled water systems .
- Hands-on experience with BMS/DCS/SCADA monitoring and control systems .
- Ability to monitor plant equipment, operating parameters, alarms, and system trends.
- Experience in operating and monitoring chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and associated equipment.
- Ability to identify abnormal operating conditions and take appropriate corrective action.
- Valuable understanding of plant start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with field operators, maintenance teams, and supervisors.
- Good knowledge of emergency response, and operational safety requirements.
- Ability to maintain accurate operational logs, records, and shift handover reports.
Key Roles & Responsibilities – Control Room Operator:
- Monitor and control the District Cooling Plant through the BMS/DCS/SCADA system .
- Continuously monitor equipment status, temperatures, pressures, flow rates,
and other critical operating parameters.
- Monitor and respond appropriately to system alarms, equipment trips, and abnormal operating conditions.
- Operate and monitor chillers, chilled water pumps, condenser water pumps, cooling towers, and associated HVAC equipment .
- Perform plant start-up, shutdown, equipment changeover, and operational adjustments in accordance with approved procedures.
- Communicate and coordinate with maintenance teams regarding equipment faults, breakdowns, and required corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate control room logs, operating records, alarm/event records, and shift reports.
- Ensure proper shift handover by communicating plant status, ongoing issues, equipment under maintenance, and other relevant operational information.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and follow established emergency and safety procedures.
