About Smart Build & The Role: Smart Build is a rapid-growing construction company specializing in multifamily renovations and capital improvement (CapEx) projects across the United States. We are looking for a highly organized, proactive Assistant Project Manager (APM) who wants to grow into a future Project Manager.
This is not a back-office administrative position. You will work directly alongside experienced PMs, manage multiple moving parts, and gain hands-on exposure to every phase of the construction lifecycle. We move quickly, communicate openly, and trust our team to take ownership and solve problems before they escalate.

What You'll Do:
Project Planning & Scheduling




• Support Project Managers in planning and executing construction projects from award through closeout
• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules
• Monitor project milestones and identify potential schedule risks
• Coordinate project activities to ensure deadlines are achieved
• Assist with schedule recovery planning when projects encounter delays

Procurement & Material Management
• Coordinate material purchasing and procurement activities
• Obtain pricing from vendors and suppliers
• Track long-lead items and delivery schedules
• Verify materials align with project scope and specifications
• Help prevent procurement-related delays that could impact project schedules

Project Coordination & Communication
• Serve as a key point of coordination between Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams
• Maintain project visibility through consistent communication and follo
