Sensory Integration Therapist

Mitra for Life Foundation | Bengaluru & Rural Outreach Centres

Mitra for Life Foundation is looking for a Sensory Integration Therapist to work with children with Autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities across our outreach programmes and rural Child Development Centres in and around Bengaluru.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct sensory processing and sensory integration assessments for children with Autism and developmental disabilities.
* Identify sensory challenges affecting behaviour, attention, communication, learning and daily functioning.
* Develop individualised sensory intervention plans based on each child’s needs.
* Provide sensory integration therapy and practical strategies that can be incorporated into the child’s regular therapy programme.
* Train and guide parents, caregivers, therapists and field teams on simple sensory strategies that can be continued at home and in community settings.
* Periodically review children and document progress and recommendations.
* Work collaboratively with Mitra’s doctors, physiotherapists,



occupational therapists, speech therapists and special educators as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team.
* Travel to Mitra’s rural centres and outreach locations around Bengaluru as required.

Candidate Profile

* Qualification in Occupational Therapy or another relevant rehabilitation discipline, with recognised training and practical experience in Sensory Integration/Sensory Processing interventions.
* Experience assessing and working with children with Autism and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
* Robust clinical observation and assessment skills.
* Comfortable working in community and rural settings, including guiding parents and local teams.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary child-development programme.

Location

Bengaluru, with regular visits to Mitra for Life Foundation’s outreach and rural centres.
