Senior Systems Engineer – Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure
Copart is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with 7 to 10 years of experience in design, build, automate, and operate our hybrid cloud infrastructure. This role is for a highly experienced individual contributor who brings solid technical judgment, leads complex initiatives end‑to‑end, and serves as a technical mentor and escalation point for the Systems Engineering team.
The ideal candidate has extensive Linux and infrastructure experience, a passion for automation, and the ability to translate business and platform needs into resilient, scalable, and supportable systems.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Engineering
• Serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for designing,



building, and operating Copart’s Linux and hybrid infrastructure platforms.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of highly available, resilient, and disaster‑recoverable systems.
• Take ownership of complex infrastructure initiatives, from design through production rollout and operational handoff.
• Act as a technical escalation point for challenging system and performance issues.
Linux & Infrastructure Operations
• Provide hands‑on engineering expertise to build, manage, and troubleshoot large‑scale Linux environments.
• Support and integrate enterprise storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms across Copart environments.
• Participate in and help improve 24x7 on‑call operations, driving reliability and response excellence.
• Perform deep incident analysis, lead root‑cause investigations, and deliver corrective and preventative actions.
