About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to shape the architecture and technical direction of scalable software platforms at Equinix.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an engineer with strong expertise in system design, software architecture, distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native development. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and partner teams to solve complex problems and build reliable, scalable platform services.

Our backend ecosystem is primarily Java-based,



but we are open to strong engineers from other technology backgrounds who bring the right depth in architecture and software engineering.

What You’ll Do
• Lead the architecture and system design of scalable, distributed platforms, microservices, APIs, and enterprise workflows.
• Own technical solutions end-to-end—from understanding complex problems and defining architecture to implementation and production.
• Design reusable platform frameworks and self-service capabilities for service onboarding, configuration, and lifecycle management.
• Drive engineering excellence across scalability, reliability, security, observability, and performance.
• Champion API-first development, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and cloud-native engineering practices.
• Partner with Product, Architects, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Apply AI/GenAI and AI-assisted engineering
