Role Description

• The Backend Engineer – MERN & AI Systems role at AlmaBetter is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru.

• We are looking for a highly driven, product-focused engineer with solid expertise in the MERN stack and hands-on experience with Python-based AI integrations. In this role, you will build scalable web applications, develop backend services and APIs, integrate AI and LLM systems, and contribute across frontend, backend, databases, cloud deployment, and system architecture.

• You will take ownership of features end to end and work closely with product, design,



and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. The role involves building up-to-date AI-enabled products using technologies such as OpenAI APIs, AWS Bedrock, RAG pipelines, AI agents, automation workflows, vector databases, and modern web technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using the MERN stack.
• Build responsive and high-performance frontend applications using React.js and Next.js.
• Develop robust backend services and APIs using Node.js, Express.js, and Python.
• Integrate AI and LLM capabilities including OpenAI APIs, AWS Bedrock, RAG pipelines, AI agents, and automation workflows.
• Design and optimize databases using MongoDB and SQL while maintaining scalable architecture.
• Build secure REST APIs and integrate external platforms and third-party services.
