Key Responsibilities1. Embedded System Testing
• Develop and execute manual test cases for embedded firmware and control software.
• Perform black-box and gray-box testing for motor control applications.
• Validate firmware on embedded targets (MCU/DSP-based systems).
• Analyze requirements and define test strategy, test scenarios, and coverage metrics.
• Motor Control Validation
• Test control algorithms for:
• BLDC, PMSM, and Induction Motors
• Field-Oriented Control (FOC)
• Speed, torque, and position control loops
• Validate system performance under:
• Different loads and operating conditions
• Voltage, temperature, and environmental variations
• Verify motor start-up, shutdown, fault handling, and safety features
• Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) & Bench Testing
• Conduct testing using:
• Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers
• Motor dyno setups and test benches
• Perform hardware-software integration testing
• Support HIL/MIL/SIL validation setups (if applicable)
• Defect Management & Debugging
• Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA/ALM
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) with development teams
• Analyze logs, signals, and waveforms for debugging issues
• Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Ensure compliance with standards such as:
• IEC, ISO, or automotive SPICE (if applicable)
• Maintain traceability matrix (RTM) and test documentation
• Support audits and customer quality reviews
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Interaction
• Work closely with:
• Embedded developers
• Control algorithm engineers
• Hardware teams
• Participate in client discussions, status reviews, and test reporting
Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills
• Solid understanding of embedded systems and microcontrollers (ARM, TI C2000, etc.)
• Experience in manual testing of embedded firmware
