About Zavya
Zavya is a quick-growing contemporary silver jewellery brand selling across D2C, marketplaces and quick commerce. As launch volumes grow, we need someone who can own product development end-to-end, not just follow up on it.
The Role
You will own the new-product development pipeline from design brief to production-ready approval. You'll make the calls on vendor allocation, cost, weight and feasibility. Routine vendor and sampling issues should be solved by you, without escalation.
What You'll Do
· Plan and run the sampling calendar against business launch timelines.
· Evaluate every design for manufacturability, target weight, target cost, lead time and vendor fit before it enters sampling.
· Allocate development to the right vendor based on capability, cost, quality and speed.
· Negotiate sampling cost, production cost, MOQ and lead times.
· Drive weight and cost engineering with Design, CAD and vendors.
· Identify,
evaluate and onboard new vendors, especially for new product types.
· Run vendor performance reviews on quality, cost, responsiveness and delivery.
· Find bottlenecks in the development cycle and fix the process, not just the instance.
· Build and maintain trackers, review cadences and SOPs.
· Guide and review the work of junior merchandisers and coordinators.
You Should Have
· 4–7 years in jewellery merchandising, buying or product development.
· An active vendor network and hands-on understanding of jewellery manufacturing.
· A track record of negotiating independently with vendors.
· Solid grip on costing, weight engineering and the sample-to-production transition.
· Commercial judgement: you know when a design isn't worth making at the target cost.
· Strong Excel or Google Sheets and reporting skills.
