Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and empathetic School Counsellor to support students in their academic, social-emotional and career development. The role involves counselling students, working closely with teachers and parents, and contributing to a secure, inclusive and positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide academic guidance, course selection support and academic goal-setting.
• Identify students facing academic challenges and provide appropriate intervention or support.
• Provide individual and small-group counselling for personal, social and emotional concerns.
• Support students with stress, anxiety, self-esteem, conflict resolution and other wellbeing concerns.
• Handle student concerns and coordinate appropriate intervention when required.
• Guide students regarding higher education, college applications, career options and vocational opportunities.
• Organize career guidance sessions, educational workshops and related student activities.
• Work with teachers and school leadership to address behavioural and learning-related concerns.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
• Coordinate with external support agencies or professionals when required.
• Maintain student records and ensure confidentiality and privacy.
Qualifications & Skills
• Master’s degree in School Counselling, Educational Psychology or Counselling Psychology.
• Valid certification/licence as a School Counsellor, where applicable.
• 3+ years of counselling experience in a recognised school.
• Good knowledge of student tracking/record systems and standard office applications.
• Strong communication, active listening and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive student situations professionally.
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to student wellbeing.
