Key Responsibilities
• Conduct Social Impact Assessments (SIA) in accordance with applicable laws and guidelines (e.g., RFCTLARR Act 2013, World Bank ESS, ADB SPS, etc.).
• Identify and assess potential social risks including land acquisition, displacement, community health and safety, and vulnerable groups.
• Prepare and implement Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs), Indigenous Peoples Plans (IPPs), or Livelihood Restoration Plans as required.
• Ensure integration of gender and inclusion aspects in the project design and implementation.
• Develop and implement Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEP) and consultation strategies with affected communities.
• Facilitate public hearings, workshops, and disclosure meetings in coordination with local authorities.
• Document stakeholder inputs and ensure they are incorporated into project decisions.
• Support the Land Acquisition and Resettlement process in coordination with government authorities.
• Oversee compensation disbursement, relocation, and livelihood restoration activities.
• Monitor compliance with social safeguard measures during construction and operation phases.
• Develop and maintain a Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) and track grievance resolution.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly monitoring reports on social performance and compliance.
• Liaise with contractors and supervision consultants to ensure implementation of social mitigation measures.
• Maintain social data and documentation for audits and review missions.
Requirements
Qualification: B.A in sociology/ Economics and M.A in sociology/ Economics
Experience: 15 years of experience must be in highway infrastructure projects.
