Key Responsibilities
- Industrial Relations (IR) & Labor Laws: Manage relations with labor unions, worker representatives, and contract labor. Ensure strict compliance with local and national acts (such as the Factories Act and Industrial Disputes Act). Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and dispute mediations.
- Shift & Workforce Operations: Coordinate shift schedules, attendance tracking, overtime calculations, and contract-to-permanent labor transitions in tandem with plant heads.
- Recruitment & Retention: Source blue-collar and white-collar talent (operators, technicians, engineers, and supervisors). Address high voluntary attrition and skilled labor shortages.
- Safety, Health & Setting (HSE): Partner with safety officers to promote zero-accident work cultures, track mandatory safety drills, and comply with occupational health regulations.
- Performance & Training: Implement shop-floor skill matrix evaluations, lean manufacturing training programs, and operator development initiatives.
- Payroll & Benefits Administration: Oversee monthly time-office inputs, wage/salary processing, statutory compliances (PF, ESI, gratuity, bonus), and employee welfare benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Social Work; a Master’s degree / MBA in HR or Industrial Relations is strongly preferred.
- Experience: 5 to 10+ years of generalist or plant HR experience, with at least 3 to 5 years spent directly inside a manufacturing, factory, or heavy industrial setting.
- Core Skills:
- Deep knowledge of labor and industrial laws
- Strong union and grievance handling capability
- Proficiency in HRIS / ERP tools (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, or local payroll/time-office software)
- High resilience, conflict-resolution, and floor-level communication skills
