About the Role

Are you someone who can turn raw footage into content that makes people stop scrolling?

Do you understand that great editing is more than just cutting clips—it’s about storytelling, rhythm, emotion, and impact?

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor with 2–3 years of professional experience to join our team The role primarily involves long-format video editing, with a focus on creating engaging, well-paced and high-quality digital content for our Client.

Candidates with prior experience in EdTech video production will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Edit long-format videos from raw footage to final delivery.




- Create engaging Instagram Reels, YouTube videos, LinkedIn videos, promotional videos, and event highlights.
- Understand scripts, briefs, and raw footage to create structured and engaging videos.
- Ensure smooth pacing, transitions, continuity, and visual storytelling.
- Add graphics, titles, subtitles, animations, visual enhancements, music, and sound effects as required. Perform basic colour correction and audio enhancement.
- Coordinate with the content, production, and creative teams to incorporate feedback.
- Manage multiple video projects while meeting production timelines.
- Optimize videos for different platforms and formats.
- Organise & manage video files, footage, project files, assets, and archives efficiently.
- Ensure consistency in branding across all communication materials.
- Stay updated with the latest design trends, video formats, and social media best practices.

Required Skills
- 2–3 years of professional experience in video editing.
- Strong experience in long-format video editing.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.

· Knowledge of motion graphics, basic animation, colour correction, sound editing, and visual effects.
- Knowledge of Design Tools is a plus.
- Understanding of social media video formats (Reels, Shorts, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and visual aesthetics with willingness to learn new design techniques.
- Good understanding of storytelling, pacing, transitions, sound, music selection and visual composition.




- Ability to work with large volumes of footage and manage multiple projects.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently & collaboratively.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your creative skills
- Ability to communicate visually, translating complex ideas into clear and engaging video & graphical content.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite to create supporting documents and presentations as needed.
- Good communication skills and an ability to receive and implement feedback.

Eligibility
- Experience: 2–3 years
- Candidates must have a portfolio/showreel demonstrating their editing skills.
- Relevant degree/diploma in Film, Mass Communication, Multimedia, Animation, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Engagement Options

We are hiring for both:

Full-Time Positions – Candidates interested in a long-term association with October Sky.

Contractual Positions – Candidates available for project-based/contract assignments.

Mandatory Requirements

· Candidate must be based in Delhi or willing to relocate to Delhi.

· Must be willing to work from the client location.

· Candidates should have their own suitable computer/laptop and editing setup capable of handling professional long-format video editing.

· Required editing software will be provided by October Sky, as applicable.

· Candidates must share links to social media handles, reels, creative portfolios created by them as part of the application process.

Compensation

· Compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills.
