Role Purpose & Crucial Imperatives The Vice President of Cloud Business Office (CBO) will work closely with the Director of the Cloud Business Office (CBO)



and IT leadership to support the vision and strategy for governance across technologies, including Cloud, and contribute to senior governance forums, including the Group Cloud Governance Committee (GCGC).

The CBO VP will act as a key contributor within the cross-functional governing body that aligns the company's business strategy with its cloud adoption, supporting cloud governance, financial management (FinOps), risk management, and workforce enablement initiatives.

You will support several core pillars across the Cloud Business Office to ensure effective cloud transformation:

- Strategic Alignment: Supporting cloud initiatives that align with the broader goals of the organization, contributing to the Cloud Strategy.
- Governance and Compliance: Implementing guardrails, security policies, and frameworks to monitor risk and meet regulatory requirements.
- Architecture and Enablement: Supporting cloud architecture standards, contributing to workforce upskilling, and assisting engineering teams with best practices.
- Workforce Enablement: Identifying skills gaps, partnering with HR to support training initiatives, and fostering a "cloud-first" culture.
- Financial Management (FinOps): Supporting the oversight of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), assisting with budget forecasting, tracking billing, and identifying cloud spend optimization opportunities.

Responsibilities

As part of the CBO, you will have the following key responsibilities in order to fulfil the role purpose above:
- Strategic Oversight: Contribute to the organization's overarching multi-cloud strategy while managing interdependencies across the business.
- Budget & Forecasting: Work with Finance to establish cost-awareness regimes and build executive dashboards for cloud spend and ROI.
- Stakeholder Management: Work with cross-function and global teams, security/risk teams, and technical delivery teams to resolve blockers.
- Change Management: Contribute to the cultural transition to cloud, ensuring staff are reskilled and organizational KPIs are tracked
- Manage Risks: Maintain awareness of architecture risks and operational risks. Minimize the likelihood of these occurring through identification, assessment, mitigation and controls, loss identification and reporting in accordance with Nomura’s risk management policy.

In addition, you will also need to:

· Contribute to an agile technology architecture vision and strategy to enable CTO governance for new Cloud technologies. Share best practice within the Group Chief Architect community.

· Support a CTO Design Authority that brings together senior leaders to make strategic decision, taking care to socialise non-functional designs and choices to the relevant Group governance group.

· Align CTO with the Group Architecture principles and standards.



Be an active member of the Architect community to help evolve Architecture best practice and embed these across the Technology landscape.

· Contribute to the development and implementation of CTO architecture strategy and standards, within the construct of the Group Architecture framework.

· Contribute to the development of platform and solution architectures and designs through governance ensuring that the target for architecture is implemented consistently across the CTO function and drive the realisation of strategy. Manage trade-offs and balances functional, service quality and cost efficiency requirements as well as adherence to appropriate standards.

· Consult on new best practices, processes, operating model, techniques, products, services, technologies and standards where needed against identified use cases, via the appropriate governance bodies.

· Stay abreast of technology trends and advise CTO business/CIO/Chief Architects and the Business about potential benefits/impacts.

Our ideal candidate will be a proficient cloud architecture leader that can demonstrate transformative influence, business value and real measurable impact at a business and technology level. They should bring passion, imagination, a partnership approach and demonstrable experience for initiating and seeing through disruptive change, collaborating with agile development teams, and helping establish a strong DevOps culture.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

· Strong experience of manging complex technology governance.

· Experience of Public Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure), Server Virtualisation (VMware), Networking (TCPIP), Storage (NAS, SAN), Containers, Databases, Middleware and Data Centres.

· Experience of Public Cloud and Private Cloud financial management practices.

· Experience in digital and broader architectural transformation, including AI transformation, applying solutions from experience in decomposing monolithic solutions and methods to manage technical legacy.

· Understanding of and practical experience working with DevOps toolsets and frameworks.

More extensive technical knowledge and experience sought:

· Experience of enterprise level software for scale delivery working in digital domains where multi deployments of security and processes are key factors.

· Specialist cloud-based technology at scale and cloud solutions which include AWS as well as on-prem cloud and up to date on cloud development trends.
