UI/UX Product Designer
Position: Senior UI/UX Product Designer
Education: B.Tech or Bachelor's or Master's in Design (B.Des/M.Des)
Experience: 10-15 years
Department: Election Commission of India
Location: New Delhi
Role Overview
We are looking for a UI/UX Product Designer who can translate business objectives, user needs, and complex functional requirements into simple, intuitive, scalable, and engaging digital products.
The role will involve the complete product design lifecyclefrom product discovery and user research to UX strategy, wireframes, prototypes, UI design, design systems, and collaboration with development teams through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Discovery & Requirement Understanding
- Understand business objectives, user needs, workflows, and functional requirements.
- Work with Product Managers, business teams, technology teams, and stakeholders to define product problems and opportunities.
- Convert complex requirements into simple and user-friendly product experiences.
1. UX & Product Design
- Design end-to-end user journeys, workflows, information architecture, and interaction models.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, mock-ups, and high-fidelity designs.
- Design responsive experiences for web, mobile applications, portals, and dashboards.
- Develop multiple design approaches and validate them with stakeholders and users.
1. User Research & Usability
- Conduct user research, interviews, usability testing, competitor analysis, and feedback sessions.
- Identify pain points and improve user experience based on data and user feedback.
- Design experiences for different user groups, including first-time and high-frequency users.

UI & Visual Design
- Create clean, modern, consistent, and visually engaging interfaces.
- Develop and maintain design systems, reusable components, UI standards, typography, icons, and visual guidelines.
- Ensure consistency across multiple products and platforms.
1. Product Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, QA teams, and stakeholders.
- Ensure designs are technically feasible, scalable, and aligned with product objectives.
- Participate throughout the development lifecycle and review the implemented product against approved designs.
1. Accessibility & Inclusive Design
- Design accessible and inclusive products following applicable accessibility standards.
- Consider multilingual/vernacular interfaces, mobile-first design, low-bandwidth environments, and diverse user capabilities where applicable.
1. Product Improvement & Innovation
- Analyze user behaviour, feedback, and product analytics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Continuously improve existing products and introduce innovative design solutions.
1. Stakeholder Management
- Present product concepts, prototypes, and design recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate design decisions and the rationale behind them.
- Balance user needs,
business objectives, technology constraints, security, and scalability.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, and Design Thinking.
- Excellent proficiency in Figma or equivalent product-design tools.
- Robust understanding of:
- User journeys
- Information architecture
- Wireframing
- Prototyping
- Design systems
- Usability testing
- Responsive design
- Accessibility
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and basic front-end development concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both business and technology teams.
Preferred Experience
- Experience designing large-scale enterprise or citizen-facing digital products.
- Experience with complex workflows, dashboards, data-intensive applications, and multi-role platforms.
- Experience in mobile apps and responsive web applications.
- Experience with multilingual/vernacular digital products.
- Experience in building and maintaining enterprise-level design systems.
