Technology Project Manager - Product & Delivery
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technology Project Manager with 8+ years of experience managing software development projects and cross-functional engineering teams.
This role goes beyond project tracking and coordination. The TPM will take ownership of delivery, product outcomes, and quality - ensuring the team understands what needs to be built, why it is being built, and that the final solution meets customer and user expectations.
We are looking for someone with an AI-first mindset - someone who actively uses AI tools to improve planning, requirements, analysis, communication, and delivery, and who is comfortable managing engineering teams where AI-assisted development is increasingly part of the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working closely with customers, business stakeholders, engineering, QA, DevOps, and UX teams, and should be able to translate business needs into clear, executable plans.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Delivery Ownership
- Own end-to-end delivery from requirements and planning through development, QA, UAT, go-live, and post-production support.
- Understand customer objectives, user needs, and business workflows and translate them into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Challenge ambiguous or incomplete requirements before they reach development.
- Help prioritize features, enhancements, technical work, and defects based on customer impact, effort, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
- Ensure the team understands the intended outcome of a feature, not just the tasks to be completed.
- Use AI-assisted tools to improve requirement analysis, user-story refinement, planning, documentation, risk identification, and other day-to-day project management activities.
- Understand how AI-assisted engineering can change development velocity and incorporate this into planning, estimation, review cycles, and delivery expectations without compromising quality.
- Own project plans, release plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments.
Quality & Release Ownership
- Maintain a strong focus on product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ensure requirements have clear and testable acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with QA and engineering teams to ensure adequate functional, integration, regression, and UAT coverage.
- Maintain a working understanding of Generative AI and agentic systems and the quality considerations specific to AI-enabled products.
- Track defects, recurring issues, and production feedback and drive them through resolution.
- Ensure releases are functionally complete,
tested, and ready for customer use before go-live.
- Feed customer feedback, UAT findings, and production learnings into subsequent releases.
Team Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams comprising developers, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, technical leads, UX/designers, and other team members.
- Create clarity on priorities, responsibilities, ownership, and expected outcomes.
- Track progress closely and intervene early when delivery or quality is at risk.
- Manage competing priorities, dependencies, conflicts, and delivery challenges.
- Work with leadership on resource planning, allocation, and capacity requirements.
Stakeholder & Customer Management
- Act as a key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Understand customer priorities and translate them into actionable plans for the delivery team.
- Conduct regular project and product reviews covering progress, priorities, risks, decisions, and upcoming releases.
- Facilitate requirement discussions, product demonstrations, UAT reviews, and release-readiness discussions.
- Manage expectations proactively when scope, priorities, timelines, or dependencies change.
- Drive decisions and escalations to closure.
SDLC & Agile Management
- Have a strong understanding of the complete Software Development Life Cycle.
- Drive Agile processes including backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Ensure requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, decisions, risks, and project documentation are maintained appropriately.
- Coordinate UAT, production releases, go-live, and transition to support.
- Understand engineering, QA, DevOps, and architecture discussions sufficiently to challenge plans and identify risks without needing to be a hands-on developer.
Risk, Resource & Commercial Management
- Identify delivery, quality, resource, and dependency risks early and drive mitigation.
- Monitor resource utilization and identify capacity or skill gaps.
- Track project effort, budgets, and commercial commitments where applicable.
- Assess the delivery and commercial impact of scope or priority changes.
- Support estimation, resource planning, and effort tracking.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in the IT/software industry, with significant experience managing software development projects.
- Experience as a Project Manager, Technology Project Manager, Delivery Manager, Product Delivery Manager, or similar role.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools in day-to-day project or product management, such as requirements analysis, planning, documentation, research, data analysis, prototyping, QA/test preparation, or stakeholder communication.
- Experience managing software products or projects through requirements, development, QA, UAT, go-live, and production support.
- Experience working with customers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into software capabilities.
- Experience with product backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, prioritization, and release planning.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery, QA, release management, and production support.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to challenge requirements, estimates, plans, and assumptions based on experience and sound judgment.
- Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar tools.
- PMP, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or similar certification is a plus.
What We Are Looking For
- Owns outcomes rather than merely coordinating activities.
- Understands the customer's business and user needs, not just project tasks.
- Asks whether we are building the right thing, not just whether it is on schedule.
- AI-first in how they work - actively looks for opportunities to use AI to improve personal productivity, team effectiveness, and delivery speed rather than relying only on traditional PM processes.
- Comfortable working with AI-assisted engineering teams and understands that higher development velocity requires equally strong requirement clarity, review, testing, and quality controls.
- Experiments with recent tools and ways of working, measures whether they are actually useful, and incorporates what works into the team's delivery process.
- Can turn ambiguous requirements into sufficient clarity for engineering and QA.
- Understands the difference between development complete and ready for the customer.
- Treats quality as a shared delivery responsibility, not only the QA team's responsibility.
- Can challenge priorities, estimates, dependencies, and assumptions constructively.
- Balances product scope, quality, timelines, customer expectations, team capacity, and cost.
- Communicates clearly and drives issues and decisions through to closure.
