Role OverviewWe are looking for a Technology Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in database administration and engineering, with strong expertise in MongoDB and PostgreSQL.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience managing production database environments, along with exposure to high availability, backup & recovery, performance tuning, database migration, security, Linux administration, automation, and DevOps practices.

Key ResponsibilitiesMongoDB Administration

- Administer and troubleshoot MongoDB production environments.
- Work with MongoDB architecture, Replica Sets and Sharding.
- Manage MongoDB backup, restore, patching, upgrades and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB Ops Manager.
- Monitor database health, performance, capacity and availability.
- Troubleshoot replication, failover and performance-related issues.

PostgreSQL Administration
- Perform hands-on PostgreSQL database administration across production environments.
- Manage PostgreSQL architecture, HA, clustering and replication.
- Configure and monitor PostgreSQL environments.
- Manage backup, restore, WAL archiving and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR).
- Perform database patching, upgrades and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot performance, availability and connectivity issues.
- Support database migration and data validation activities.

Performance & • Monitoring
- Perform database performance tuning and diagnostics.
- Analyze queries, execution plans, logs and database resource utilization.




- Monitor database health, storage, sessions, replication and capacity.
- Identify root causes and implement performance improvements.

Database Security
- Manage database users, roles, permissions and authentication.
- Implement database logging, auditing and security controls.
- Support compliance and secure database access practices.

Database Migration
- Plan and execute database migration activities.
- Validate data integrity, availability and performance after migration.
- Troubleshoot migration-related issues.
- Experience with tools such as Ora2Pg or equivalent migration utilities will be an advantage.

DevOps & • Automation
- Automate routine database administration and operational activities.
- Work with Ansible, Jenkins and Terraform.
- Support database integration with CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop reusable automation solutions for database operations.
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code practices is preferred.

Scripting & • Linux
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments.
- Good scripting experience using Bash and/or Python.
- Perform database and system-level troubleshooting.
- Automate routine monitoring, maintenance and operational tasks.

Required Experience & • Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in Database Administration / Database Engineering.




- Robust hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Experience working with production databases and critical incidents.
- Strong understanding of database HA, replication, backup, recovery and performance tuning.
- Experience with database migration and troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration experience.
- Hands-on exposure to Ansible, Jenkins or Terraform.
- Good scripting knowledge in Bash and/or Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment.

Preferred Experience
- MongoDB Ops Manager
- MongoDB Replica Sets & • Sharding

- PostgreSQL Streaming Replication / Patroni / Clustering
- Barman / pgBackRest / PITR
- PostgreSQL monitoring tools such as PEM, pgBadger or equivalent
- AWS database services such as RDS
- Oracle-to-PostgreSQL or similar database migration experience
- Database automation and CI/CD integration

Ideal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on DBA/Database Engineering experience, with strong practical expertise in PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Candidates should be comfortable owning production database operations, troubleshooting critical issues, managing HA/DR environments, performing migrations and optimizing database performance. Candidates with a combination of DBA + DevOps + automation experience will be preferred.
