The Technical Product Owner for Veeva QMS will play a key role in the global implementation and adoption of Veeva Quality Management System capabilities within VISION. The position bridges business quality processes and IT solution delivery, ensuring that requirements from Qual-ity, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and related business functions are translated into scalable, compliant, and harmonized system capabilities. The role requires a strong understanding of regulated environments such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, and GxP-relevant industries, including quality system expectations under standards and frameworks such as ISO 13485, and applicable GxP requirements.
Primary duties and responsibilities :
- Act as Technical Product Owner for the implementation, rollout, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Veeva QMS capabilities within VISION;
- Translate business requirements from Quality Management, Manufacturing, Laboratory, Regulatory, and GxP-relevant stakeholders into clear functional and technical product backlog items
- Define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, including user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and release priorities in alignment with business value, compliance, and inspection-readiness needs;
- Support process and solution design for core QMS processes such as deviations, CAPA, change control, audits, complaints, document control, training, quality events, and management oversight activities
- Ensure effective integration and data alignment between Veeva QMS and relevant enterprise systems, especially SAP QM, LIMS, MES, ERP, and related manufacturing or quality platforms;
- Collaborate with implementation partners, internal IT teams, business process owners, validation teams,
and regional/local quality representatives to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions for healthcare, pharma, medical technology, and medical device environments
- Support configuration, testing, validation, migration, cut-over, deployment, hyper care, and transition to support activities for Veeva QMS implementation waves
- Ensure that implemented solutions comply with applicable quality, regulatory, CSV, data integrity, internal governance, ISO 13485, MDSAP, and GxP requirements where applicable
- Contribute to preparation, support, and follow-up of certification audits, regulatory authority inspections, TÜV audits, and internal/external quality system assessments from a system and process perspective
- Contribute to training concepts, knowledge transfer, documentation, change management, and management reporting on relevant QMS indicators to drive adoption of the Veeva QMS solution across VISION.
- Transfers BPO-defined or BPO-approved demands into complete technical specifications.
- Adds technical product requirements such as scalability, security, and extensibility and communicates them to the BPO.
- Coordinates the effort estimation of fully specified requirements.
- Checks the technical feasibility and completeness of demands.
- Manages prioritized requirements in the demand funnel and ensures a sufficiently maintained development backlog.
- Ensures that only fully specified demands are handed over to development as user stories.
- Coordinates the development and development testing process
- Ensuring that defined acceptance criteria have been tested and fulfilled.
- Maintains the work breakdown structure of defined tasks.
- Hands over releases with completed user stories to the BPO for approval.
- Prioritizes and defines technical requirements and tasks in alignment with the BPO.
- Manages and communicates technical requirements towards the BPO.
- Ensure transparent reporting on progress against planned work and agreed delivery dates.
- Escalates delays and risks proactively to the BPO.
- Supports the BPO in analyzing reported failures and making informed product decisions.
Job Specifications
- Education / Professional Certification
- University degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Quality Management, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification.
2. Experience
- More than 10 years of relevant professional experience in SAP QM, LIMS, QMS systems, quality process digitalization, or regulated system implementation within healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, or other GxP-relevant environments; experience with Veeva QMS is strongly preferred.
3. Skills:
- Strong functional and technical understanding of Quality Management processes and systems, preferably including Veeva QMS, SAP QM, LIMS, and related enterprise platforms;
- Proven experience as Product Owner, Business Process Owner, Solution Lead, or Senior Business Expert in global QMS, ERP, or laboratory system implementation programs;
- Experience with end-to-end implementation activities including requirements engineering, solution design, backlog management, configuration support, testing, validation, deployment, and hyper care;
- Good understanding of regulated environments, computerized system validation, GxP expectations, data integrity principles, quality compliance requirements, and relevant certification standards such as ISO 13485 and MDSAP;
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret regulatory and quality requirements and trans-late them into practical business processes, system requirements, and implementation priorities;
- Ability to connect business process needs with technical solution capabilities and to communicate effectively with both business and IT stakeholders;
- Experience in integrating QMS processes with SAP QM, MES, LIMS, document management, training, and reporting solutions is an advantage;
- Structured, analytical, and result-oriented working style with the ability to manage complexity, dependencies, and multiple stakeholder expectations in an international environment;
- Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written; German or other languages are an advantage.
