- Educational Qualifications/Skillsets Required:
⚫ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
⚫ 8–12 years of progressive software engineering experience with at least 4–6 years in a technical lead or manager capacity.
⚫ Hands-on experience building and deploying voice/conversational AI systems, speechto-text (STT), text-to-speech (TTS), and dialogue management platforms in production.
⚫ Strong understanding of LLM-powered conversational agents, prompt engineering,
function calling, and agentic workflows (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel).
⚫ Familiarity with U.S. healthcare workflows — patient scheduling, insurance verification,
prior authorization, prescription refills, appointment reminders, and revenue cycle processes.
⚫ Experience with telephony and voice infrastructure — SIP, VoIP,
WebRTC, Twilio,
Amazon Connect, or Genesys; real-time audio streaming and low-latency voice pipelines.
⚫ Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow); working knowledge of Node.js, ReactJS, or .NET for full-stack integration.
⚫ Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; containerization (Docker, Kubernetes); CI/CD tooling; and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
⚫ Proficiency in relational (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis,
Elasticsearch) databases; experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate) is a plus.
⚫ Proactive, self-starter mindset; excellent verbal and written English; robust client and stakeholder communication skills.
- Roles and Responsibilities:
⚫ Own Voice Agent Platform: Architect, build, and ship the AI Voice Agent platform for healthcare — including real-time speech recognition pipelines, LLM-powered dialogue engines, text-to-speech synthesis, and telephony integration layers.
⚫ Bridge Healthcare & Engineering: Collaborate with clinical operations teams, medical office staff, and product managers to deeply understand healthcare voice workflows —
patient intake calls, appointment scheduling, insurance eligibility checks, prescription refill requests, and post-visit follow-ups — translating them into intelligent voice agent capabilities.
⚫ Drive Conversational AI Strategy: Lead the evaluation, fine-tuning, and deployment of
LLMs and NLU frameworks for multi-turn healthcare dialogues; design intent recognition, entity extraction, slot filling, and context management for clinical conversations.
⚫ Build Speech & Audio Pipelines: Design and maintain scalable, low-latency speech processing pipelines — ASR (Whisper,
Deepgram, Google Speech), TTS (ElevenLabs,
Amazon Polly, Azure Speech), noise cancellation, speaker diarization, and real-time audio streaming using WebSockets.
⚫ Ensure Compliance & Quality: Implement rigorous testing frameworks for voice agent accuracy, conversation completion rates, and patient satisfaction; ensure HIPAA compliance for voice data handling, PHI redaction, call recording, and consent management.
⚫ Telephony & Integration: Design and manage integrations with telephony platforms
(Twilio, Amazon Connect, SIP trunks), EHR/EMR systems (HL7, FHIR), practice management software, and CRM tools to enable seamless end-to-end voice workflows.
⚫ Drive CI/CD & Architecture: Design cloud-native, event-driven microservices architecture for voice workloads; build and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions,
Jenkins), containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code.
⚫ Lead & Mentor Teams: Manage and grow multiple engineering pods; set goals,
conduct code reviews, run sprint ceremonies, identify skill gaps, and proactively communicate status and blockers to leadership.
⚫ Stay Current: Continuously evaluate emerging voice AI technologies, real-time speech models, conversational AI frameworks, and healthcare regulatory updates to keep the platform at the cutting edge.
