Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Python Developer to build an AI-assisted migration accelerator that converts Cognos Framework Manager models, Cognos reports, XML artifacts, and Cognos SDK metadata into LookML semantic models, Explores, dashboards, and reusable migration assets.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop migration automation framework using Python.

- Build parsers for Cognos FM models, XML files, report specifications, and Cognos SDK outputs.

- Develop metadata extraction and lineage generation capabilities.

- Convert Cognos business models into LookML structures.

- Generate LookML views, models, Explores, and dashboard templates automatically.

- Build rule engines and mapping frameworks for Cognos-to-Looker transformation.

- Develop validation and reconciliation utilities.





- Integrate Gemini/LLM-based code generation and metadata interpretation capabilities.

- Create APIs and orchestration services for migration workflows.

- Support large-scale Cognos-to-Looker modernization programs.

Skill Requirements

- Expert Python development (8+ years).

- Strong XML parsing and metadata processing.

- Experience with SDK/API integrations.

- Robust OOP and design pattern knowledge.

- SQL and data modeling expertise.

- Git, CI/CD, testing frameworks.

- REST API development.

- Experience building code generators or transformation frameworks.
