Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru for a Strategic Sourcing Manager with focus on casting, forging, new product development (NPD), and RFQs. The role involves identifying and qualifying suppliers for castings, forgings, and machined components, negotiating pricing and contracts, and managing supplier performance for quality, delivery, and cost.

The Strategic Sourcing

Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to support NPD projects, develop sourcing strategies, and ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of new components. Daily activities include preparing and evaluating RFQs, conducting cost analysis and should-cost studies, maintaining sourcing dashboards,



and driving continuous improvement in supply base capability and reliability. The role also requires regular supplier visits, alignment on technical specifications, and support in resolving supply chain risks and escalations.

Qualifications

- Strong experience in strategic sourcing and procurement for industrial or engineering products, ideally in casting, forging, and precision machining.
- Technical understanding of metal components, manufacturing processes, and materials, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated capability in NPD support, RFQ preparation and evaluation, cost breakdown analysis, and supplier benchmarking.
- Proficiency in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring using KPIs for quality, delivery, and cost.
- Familiarity with supply chain planning, risk assessment, and continuous improvement methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills, with competence in Excel and sourcing/procurement tools or ERP systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and international suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degrees or supply chain certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in global sourcing for OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers and familiarity with export/import practices
