Job Title: Store Incharge / Stores Supervisor

Department: Stores / Warehouse / Materials

Experience: 1–5 years

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech / B.Com or relevant qualification

Job Summary

Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the stores department, including material receiving, inspection coordination, storage, inventory control, material issuing, documentation, and stock reconciliation. Ensure the right materials are available to production at the right time while maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day store and warehouse activities.
- Receive raw materials, components, consumables, tools, and finished goods.
- Verify materials against Purchase Orders, delivery challans, invoices, and material specifications.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for incoming material inspection.
- Properly identify, label, and store materials according to established procedures.
- Issue materials to production against authorized Material Requisitions / Indents.
- Maintain accurate stock records, bin cards, and inventory registers.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and inform the purchase team about material requirements.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and cycle counts.
- Investigate and report stock shortages, excesses, damages, and discrepancies.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
- Maintain proper segregation of approved, rejected, returned, and obsolete materials.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Accounts departments.
- Monitor loading, unloading, material handling, and proper storage practices.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards within the store.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and stock reports.




- Maintain records for material receipts, issues, returns, transfers, and scrap.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required inventory documentation.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.
- Ensure proper control of tools, consumables, spare parts, and production materials.
- Guide and supervise store assistants and warehouse workers.

Required Skills

- Positive knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of GRN (Goods Receipt Note), Material Issue, Material Return, and Stock Transfer procedures.
- Good understanding of ERP/software-based inventory management.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and basic reporting.
- Ability to read and understand material specifications and engineering drawings.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in a manufacturing / engineering / fabrication / machining company.
- Knowledge of 5S and workplace safety.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Tally, Oracle, or other inventory software.
- Knowledge of ABC analysis, FIFO, stock reconciliation, and inventory control.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical components, raw materials, fasteners, tools, and consumables.
