Role Overview The Senior Quality Assurance Manager will own the quality assurance and quality control function for denim garments from product development through final shipment. This role ensures compliance with buyer specifications, RFT targets, quality standards, and drives continuous improvement across the factory. The position demands strong expertise in denim production, wash processes, and quality systems, with proven leadership in managing QA teams.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Ownership – Development to Bulk

- Ensure quality from proto/fit/sample stage through PP approval, size‑set approval, pilot run, pre‑production readiness, bulk production, and final inspection.
- Prevent quality issues before bulk production rather than discovering them at final inspection.

Quality Control Plan / CTQ

- Define and monitor Critical‑to‑Quality (CTQ) parameters.
- Establish quality standards/specifications, inspection checkpoints, AQL standards, measurement/specification controls, defect classification, and tolerance standards.

Fabric Quality Assurance

- Conduct fabric inspection and defect identification.
- Manage shade/lot segregation, shrinkage, GSM/weight checks, and fabric performance testing.
- Oversee fabric relaxation and cutting‑related quality issues.

Wash Quality (Denim Focus)

- Ensure wash recipe/process compliance, shade band management, and wash approvals.
- Monitor shrinkage, twisting/skew, hand feel, colourfastness, and wash‑to‑wash consistency.
- Control rewashes/reprocessing and analyse wash rejections.

Customer Complaints & Claims

- Analyse customer complaints/claims,



conduct RCA, implement CAPA, and track effectiveness to prevent recurrence.

Quality Cost Ownership

- Monitor and report rework, alteration, rejection, rewashes, claims, wastage, and overall Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).

Supplier / Vendor Quality

- Evaluate supplier quality for fabrics, trims, and outsourced wash processes.
- Ensure incoming material quality, vendor corrective actions, and supplier performance monitoring.

Testing & Laboratory Requirements

- Coordinate buyer‑specific and standard tests: colourfastness, shrinkage, crocking, tensile/tear, seam performance, etc.

Quality MIS & Trend Analysis

- Prepare daily/weekly dashboards covering DHU trends, RFT trends, defect Pareto, line/factory‑wise performance, and CAPA closure ageing.

Authority & Escalation

- Hold authority to stop/hold production or dispatch when critical quality requirements are not met, with defined escalation to Factory Head/management.

Continuous Improvement

- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and industrial engineering initiatives to strengthen quality culture and improve efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

- 10–12 years of garment manufacturing experience, with at least 5–6 years in denim QA leadership.




- Robust knowledge of denim wash processes, shade control, and laundry quality systems.
- Proven ability to lead QA teams and manage large‑scale operations.
- Experience in handling buyer audits, compliance standards, and international quality requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Production, or related field.
- Postgraduate diploma/degree in Garment Technology or Quality Management preferred.
- Experience in Lean/Six Sigma/quality improvement methodologies preferred.
