Role Description The Speech Therapist is a full-time, in office role based in Bengaluru, responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, and communication disorders. Day-to-day tasks include conducting detailed evaluations, developing personalized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapy sessions for patients with speech delays, language impairments, dysphagia, and related conditions. The role involves close collaboration with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation teams, and family members to ensure continuity of care and support holistic recovery.
The Speech
Therapist will document clinical findings, maintain accurate patient records, participate in multidisciplinary case discussions,
and provide education and counseling to patients and caregivers on therapy goals and home-based exercises. The position may also include contributing to program development, quality improvement initiatives, and training activities within Sukino’s continuum care framework.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Speech Therapy and the assessment and treatment of Speech-related conditions.
- Candidates should possess expertise in evaluating and managing Dysphagia, including safe swallowing strategies and therapy interventions.
- Candidates should possess skills in working with Communication Disorders, including articulation, fluency, and voice issues.
- Candidates should possess clinical competency in Language Disorders, including receptive and expressive language difficulties across age groups.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent from a recognized institution; valid professional registration or licensure as applicable.
- Experience in clinical settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or long-term care facilities, preferably with neurological and oncology cases.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and educate patients and caregivers.
- Ability to maintain detailed clinical documentation, use basic healthcare technology, and adhere to ethical and evidence-based practice standards.
- Proficiency in relevant local languages in addition to English is an advantage, along with a patient-centered, empathetic approach to care.
