The team collaborates closely with parents and caregivers to understand each child’s strengths, challenges, sensory needs, and developmental profile, and to design personalized intervention plans. Services span pediatric occupational therapy, sensory integration, speech and language therapy, special education, vision therapy, neurodevelopmental therapy, school readiness, and more, addressing a wide range of developmental and behavioral areas. The centre’s mission is to empower children to participate more independently and confidently at home, school, and in the community, recognizing that meaningful progress begins with small, supported steps.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Speech Therapist role based at Dr. Austin’s Child Development & Rehabilitation Centre in Arakkonam.
The Speech
Therapist will assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in children, using standardized tools and clinical observations. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering individualized therapy sessions, documenting progress,
and adjusting intervention plans based on each child’s response. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and working closely with families to provide home programs, caregiver education, and strategies to support communication in everyday settings.
The Speech
Therapist will also contribute to developmental assessments, participate in case discussions, and uphold evidence-informed and ethical clinical practices.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Speech Therapy, including assessment, treatment planning, and intervention.
- Ability to address Speech and Communication Disorders, focusing on articulation, fluency, and pragmatic communication.
- Experience working with Language Disorders, including receptive and expressive language delays or disorders.
- Knowledge of Dysphagia management and safe swallowing practices in pediatric populations (preferred).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Relevant professional registration or licensure as required by local regulations.
- Experience working with children with developmental, learning, or neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Robust observation, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with families and caregivers.
- Commitment to evidence-informed practice, professional development, and ethical standards of care.
