Role Summary

Senior ServiceNow Developer role will architect, design, configure, and implement our ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture (EA) / Application Portfolio Management (APM) ecosystems to build a robust, end-to-end framework for quantitative value and risk scoring across the application landscape.

This is not a traditional administration role. The ideal candidate will act as a consultant-engineer, working independently with business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather requirements, translate them into complex configurations, govern structured Update Sets across multiple instances, carry out unit testing using the Automated Test Framework (ATF), and see deployments smoothly into production.

You will bridge operational IT metrics (ITSM/CMDB) and the employee portal, applying these capabilities natively through a unified Employee Center Portal ecosystem.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

- EA & Application Scoring Profiles: Design, script, and configure Scoring Profiles and Application Indicators within the ServiceNow EA/APM framework. Automate both qualitative assessments (via the ServiceNow Assessment Engine) and quantitative indicators (leveraging Total Cost of Ownership, infrastructure risk, and business value metrics).
- End-to-End Delivery Ownership: Directly collaborate and conduct scoping sessions with business SMEs to map high-level enterprise risk criteria into technical specifications.



Own the full lifecycle independently from requirements capture through design, implementation, and deployment.
- CMDB and CSDM Governance: Enforce strict alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM 5.0) framework. Establish precise relationship rules between Business Applications, Application Services, and underlying infrastructure components to enable accurate Technology Portfolio Management (TPM) calculations.
- ITSM Integration and Custom Engines: Map operational metrics from Incident, Problem, and Change workflows directly into risk engine metrics. Write custom scripts to extend scoring algorithms (e.g., overriding core risk calculators) while ensuring clean interactions with the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) to avoid duplicate anomalies.
- Employee Center Portal Delivery: Configure and deploy custom Service Catalog catalogs, record producers, and UI experiences within the Employee Center Portal framework. Organize application lifecycles cleanly using Unified Taxonomy Topics so that enterprise users can smoothly review, request, and assess business applications.
- Setting Control and Lifecycle Management: Manage configuration isolation across Development, Test, and Production environments. Drive Update Set governance - a methodical approach to capturing scoped and global updates, performing collision resolutions, merging multi-developer sets, and ensuring risk-free migration pathways.
- Quality Assurance and Automated Testing:



Author and execute structured unit tests. Manual testing and use of an Automated Test Framework (ATF) to build repeatable test profiles, mitigate upgrade breaks, and co-lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles in direct coordination with stakeholder SMEs.

Technical Qualifications and Requirements

- Experience: Minimum 9+ years of active, hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer or Technical Consultant, explicitly covering enterprise-scale rollouts.
- EA/APM Domain Mastery: Proven, referenceable experience building out custom ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management (APM) or Enterprise Architecture (EA) profiles, indicators, and scheduled metric runs.
- Advanced ServiceNow Configuration: Proficient in complex Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, Flow Designer, and custom UI Actions within both global and scoped architectures.
- Lifecycle Tools: Master-level understanding of ServiceNow Update Set mechanics (handling conflicts, dependencies, cross-scope updates, and structured code promotions).
- ATF and Testing Frameworks: Experience writing and maintaining comprehensive testing suites inside the Automated Test Framework (ATF).
- Portal Frameworks: Experience configuring the Unified Employee Center Portal, including taxonomy mapping, widgets, CSS modification, and service catalog structuring.
- CSDM Architecture: Intimate operational knowledge of CSDM 5.0 data structures and dependencies.
