Role Description The Senior Technical Manager role at Superfan.ng is a full-time remote position responsible for overseeing the technical strategy, delivery, and maintenance of the platform. This role involves leading and mentoring technical teams, coordinating cross-functional projects, and ensuring that engineering efforts align with product and business goals. Day-to-day tasks include managing technical roadmaps, tracking project milestones, reviewing architecture and code quality, and overseeing system performance, reliability, and security.

The Senior Technical

Manager will collaborate closely with product, design, and content teams, provide guidance on technical support processes, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven decisions and R&D; initiatives. This role also includes stakeholder communication, risk management,



and establishing best practices for remote collaboration and documentation.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, diagnose technical issues, and make evidence-based decisions.
- Proven experience in team management, including mentoring, performance feedback, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative engineering culture.
- Hands-on background in technical support and operations, with the ability to design and improve support workflows and SLAs.
- Experience in research and development (R&D;), exploring new technologies, architectures, and tools to enhance platform performance and user experience.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery of complex technical projects.
- Solid understanding of contemporary web or mobile application development (e.g., cloud infrastructure, APIs, CI/CD, security best practices).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, distributed team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in edtech, consumer apps, or platforms serving African or diaspora communities is a plus.
