About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Oracle who is hands-on, dependable, and ready to grow into an Oracle Lead role. You will build and fix Oracle-based solutions for our insurance products, guide junior team members, and gradually take on ownership of delivery, quality, and team management. This is a clear growth path for someone who wants to lead.

Location: Tharamani, Chennai

Work mode: Work from office, 5 days a week

Experience: 6 to 9 years

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deliver Oracle-based solutions, enhancements, and defect fixes
- Provide quick, effective solutions to technical and business-critical issues
- Understand business requirements proactively and raise risks and questions early
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, changes, and projects and see them through to completion
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge within the team
- Take on lead responsibilities over time: planning work, tracking progress, and getting consistent output from the team
- Deliver high-quality work through code reviews, thorough testing, and best practices
- Contribute to Oracle architecture decisions on performance, scalability, and maintainability




- Build and support API integrations and API gateway processing
- Use AI tools (especially Claude) to speed up development, debugging, and defect resolution

Required Skills and Experience

- 6 to 9 years of experience with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle
- Experience guiding or mentoring team members, with the aspiration and readiness to step into a lead role
- Valuable verbal and written communication skills
- Strong sense of ownership and a drive to complete tasks, changes, and projects
- Proactive understanding of business requirements and business-critical issues
- Ability to explain technical concepts and help teammates grow
- Consistent delivery of high-quality work
- Insurance domain and business functional knowledge
- Understanding of financial transaction flows

Technology and Hands-on

Must have: Oracle (Database, PL/SQL), strong SQL, Oracle Reports, Jasper Reports, API integrations, hands-on use of AI tools (especially Claude) for development and defect resolution

Good to have: Oracle architecture skills, Cloud with AWS, API gateway processing, Java; experience with policy administration, claims, billing, or accounting systems in insurance

Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (Master's preferred)

Growth Path
