Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Phaco Surgeon / Ophthalmologist to join our reputed eye care/hospital team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Phacoemulsification and Cataract Surgery, with the ability to independently perform surgeries and provide comprehensive ophthalmic care.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgeries independently.

- Conduct comprehensive Ophthalmology OPD consultations and eye examinations.

- Evaluate and diagnose cataract and other common ophthalmic conditions.

- Perform detailed pre-operative assessments and determine surgical fitness.

- Counsel patients regarding treatment options, surgery, IOL selection, risks, and post-operative care.

- Manage pre-operative and post-operative patients effectively.

- Monitor surgical outcomes and manage post-operative complications appropriately.

- Perform minor ophthalmic procedures as per expertise.

- Coordinate with OT staff, optometrists, nurses, and other clinical teams.

- Maintain accurate patient records, operative notes, and follow-up documentation.

- Ensure compliance with infection-control, OT safety, and patient-care protocols.





- Mentor junior ophthalmologists and support staff when required.

- Participate in clinical discussions, audits, and quality-improvement initiatives.

Eligibility & Qualifications

- MBBS + MS / MD / DNB in Ophthalmology from a recognized institution.

- Valid NMC / State Medical Council Registration.

- Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience preferred.

- Proven experience in independent Phacoemulsification and Cataract Surgery.

- Fellowship in Phaco / Cataract / Refractive Surgery will be an added advantage.

- Candidates with experience in high-volume cataract surgery centres will be preferred.

Required Skills

- Solid expertise in Phacoemulsification and IOL implantation.

- Excellent clinical and surgical decision-making skills.

- Good patient counselling and communication skills.

- Ability to independently manage routine and challenging cataract cases.

- Strong attention to surgical safety and patient care.

- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary ophthalmology team.

Pay: ₹120,000.00 - ₹250,000.00 per month
