About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Microsoft Azure Solution Architect with strong hands-on experience designing and building real-time, event-driven and data-intensive applications on Azure.
The role will involve designing and implementing solutions that combine Azure real-time services, IoT/telemetry, event streaming, APIs, databases, caching, Microsoft Fabric and Lakehouse technologies.
This is a hands-on architecture role. The candidate should be able to move from architecture and service selection to PoC, implementation, performance testing and production readiness.
What You ll Work On
You will help build modern operational platforms where real-time data and historical analytics work together - for example, control-room, fleet management, IoT, logistics and operational intelligence solutions.
1. Azure Solution Architecture
- Design end-to-end solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable Azure architectures.
- Select Azure services based on performance, scalability, reliability, security and cost.
- Create solution architecture, data-flow and deployment diagrams.
- Identify technical risks and validate architecture through working PoCs.
- Work closely with application, data and frontend engineers to translate architecture into implementation.
2. Real-Time & Event-Driven Architecture
- Design and implement real-time data flows from device/application through event ingestion, stream processing, real-time state and APIs to the application.
- Work hands-on with Azure IoT Hub, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Functions and Azure Cache for Redis.
- Apply sound practices for event processing, partitioning, latency, scalability and fault handling.
3. Database & Data Platform
- Design databases and data-storage patterns on Microsoft Azure.
- Work with Azure SQL / SQL Server, data modelling, indexing and performance tuning.
- Understand transactional versus analytical workloads and appropriate data-retention strategies.
- Design integration between operational databases and analytical platforms.
4. Microsoft Fabric & Lakehouse
- Design and implement analytical data flows using Microsoft Fabric and OneLake.
- Work with Fabric Lakehouse, Eventstream, Eventhouse and Power BI.
- Understand how real-time operational workloads in Azure integrate with historical and analytical workloads in Fabric.
- Help establish appropriate patterns for real-time analytics and historical data.
5. API & Application Services
- Build and integrate secure REST APIs using Azure API Management and Azure Functions.
- Work with Microsoft Entra ID and Managed Identity for authentication and service-to-service security.
- Support integration with modern web applications such as React / TypeScript.
6. Security & Cloud Engineering
- Apply Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identity, Key Vault and RBAC.
- Design secure APIs and cloud workloads.
- Understand network security and private connectivity patterns.
- Use Azure Monitor and Application Insights for operational visibility.
7. Infrastructure & DevOps
- Use Terraform or Bicep for Infrastructure as Code.
- Implement CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Automate Azure deployments, environment configuration and monitoring.

Must-Have Experience
- 6-8 years of technology experience with strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
- At least 2 production-grade Azure solutions involving several of the core technologies listed above.
- Real-time data or event processing experience.
- IoT, telemetry or high-volume data experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong SQL and database fundamentals.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric / OneLake / Lakehouse architecture.
- Experience with Azure security, identity and Infrastructure as Code.
- Ability to work across architecture and implementation.
Hands-On Architecture Requirement This is not a purely architecture-documentation role. The successful candidate should be comfortable opening the Azure portal, configuring services, writing or reviewing code, troubleshooting event flows and demonstrating a working solution.
- Design the architecture and challenge service choices where necessary.
- Build working PoCs and critical Azure components.
- Configure event pipelines and APIs.
- Design databases and data flows into Fabric/Lakehouse.
- Troubleshoot real-time data flows.
- Perform performance and scalability testing.
- Set up CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
- Document the production-ready architecture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 6-8 years of technology experience.
- Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
- Experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications.
- Strong SQL and database fundamentals.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric / Lakehouse architecture.
- Strong understanding of event-driven and real-time architectures.
- Strong communication and solution-design skills.
- AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Relevant Azure data or IoT certifications are a plus.
Why This Role Matters This role sits at the intersection of cloud architecture, real-time engineering and modern data platforms. You will help turn complex operational data into reliable, real-time applications while building the analytical foundation needed for reporting, insights and future AI-driven capabilities.
