Role Description The Senior Loan Officer is a full-time, in office role based in Varanasi, responsible for managing the end-to-end loan lifecycle for individual and group borrowers. Daily activities include sourcing and evaluating potential clients, conducting field visits, assessing creditworthiness, and performing detailed financial and risk analysis. The role involves overseeing loan origination processes, verifying documentation, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and recommending approvals or declines.

Officer will guide junior staff, maintain strong customer relationships, provide responsive customer service,



and support clients with repayment planning and financial literacy. The role also includes monitoring portfolio quality, addressing delinquency cases, and contributing to branch-level performance targets and community outreach initiatives.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in Loan Officer responsibilities, including managing loan portfolios and mentoring junior officers.
- Strong Finance and credit assessment skills, with the ability to analyze borrower income, cash flow, and repayment capacity.
- Hands-on Underwriting expertise, including risk evaluation, documentation review, and adherence to credit policies.
- Proven Customer Service capabilities, with a focus on empathy, clear communication, and long-term relationship building.
- Practical experience in Loan Origination processes, from client acquisition and application processing to disbursement.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, business administration, or a related field; advanced certifications in microfinance or credit management are an advantage.
- Knowledge of microfinance operations, regulatory guidelines, and local socio-economic conditions in Varanasi and surrounding areas.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and integrity in handling financial information.
- Ability to work on-site in field-intensive roles, communicate effectively in English and local languages, and use basic digital tools and MIS systems.
